Registration Policy

Please read all registration and refund policies carefully before you register.

 

Craft Alliance has 2 registration periods.  Early registration for members and open registration for the general public.  Membership is not a requirement to take classes.

 

REGISTRATION:


Registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please register early; class sizes are limited.  Waiting lists are available for all classes that fill.  Full payment must accompany registration.


FIVE EASY WAYS TO REGISTER

On-Line Registration:

at www.craftalliance.org.  On-line registration must be completed 3 days prior to the beginning of a class.  If less than 3 days, please drop by, fax or call.


In Person:
In the Registrar's Office, 9:00-5:00, Monday-Friday.  You may pay with cash, check, money order, or credit card (MasterCard or Visa).
 

By Fax:

Please include the fully completed registration form (both sides) along with complete credit card number and expiration date.

 

By Mail:

Please include the fully completed registration form (both sides) along with a check or money order for the full amount of tuition and fees, or complete credit card information.  There will be a $25 fee for all returned checks.

 

By Phone:

Call 314-725-1177, ext. 325, with all necessary class and credit card information.  Office hours are 9:00-5:00 Monday through Friday.  MasterCard and Visa are accepted.  Phone registration for Summer Camp is not accepted.

 

Payment:
Tuition and fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.  Members of Craft Alliance receive discounts on class and workshop tuition.  We accept cash, check, money order, or credit card (MasterCard or Visa).  There will be a $25 fee for all returned checks.

Confirmation:
You will receive confirmation of enrollment by mail or email.

Cancellation Policy:

Craft Alliance reserves the right to cancel, combine or reschedule classes to adjust for enrollment.  If Craft Alliance cancels a class, you may transfer to another class or receive a full refund. 

Policy for Private Lessons:
No refunds or credits will be given if the student fails to come to a scheduled private lesson.  Rescheduling a lesson may be possible if the student calls at least 24 hour ahead of the scheduled lesson and the teacher is available.  Tuition will be refunded less a $15 processing fee only if the student withdraws from the lesson at least 10 days in advanced.  There are no exceptions to this policy.

Withdrawl and Refund Policy:
A $25 withdrawal fee will be charged per class or camp. Notice of withdrawal must be made in writing and received at least 14 days prior to the start of the class. No refunds will be given for withdrawals made after that time. Non-attendance to class, telephone or other verbal communication is not considered an official notice of withdrawal. No refunds or credits will be given for classes missed due to illness, personal conflict or other reasons. The schedules do not allow for students to make up missed classes. There are no exceptions to this policy.


Workshop Cancellation Policy:
Workshop Cancellation Policy: Fees will be refunded minus the $25 processing fee if the office is notified in writing three weeks prior to the beginning of the workshop. No refunds will be given after that date. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Tuition & Lab Fees:
Tuition includes instruction for one class per session.  Lab fees for certain studios include the cost of general supplies used by students, tools and studio equipment maintenance.

 

Materials Fee:
The materials fee covers materials purchased by Craft Alliance to begin projects.  Some classes have additional student lists of required supplies.  Tools and materials belonging to Craft Alliance may not be removed from the studio.  Craft Alliance cannot be responsible for lost or stolen tools or supplies.

Discounts:
Members of Craft Alliance receive 10% tuition discounts on camps, classes and workshops, as well as 10% discounts in the retail gallery.

Studio Policies:
*Craft Alliance does not allow pets or firearms in the building.

*Only currently enrolled students may attend classes.

*Parents are welcome to visit but may not attend children's classes.

*Craft Alliance reserves the right to refuse continued enrollment to disruptive students.

 

Studio Usage:

Clay and Fiber Studios are available for use by currently enrolled students outside of class time while a monitor is on duty.  Metals and Glass studios are available during posted hours and with the purchase of a Studio Card from the Registrar.  All of your work, supplies and tools must be removed from the studio at the end of your class session.  Any items remaining in the studio will be discarded or considered a donation.

Weather Policy:

The Craft Alliance Education Center will hold classes unless there is sufficient snowfall or ice to make it hazardous for faculty and students.  For cancelations, please call the Registrar's desk after 8:30am to access a message about the status of classes at (314) 725-1177 ext. 325.
